Shine Ministry

Shine Ministry seeks to equip and disciple children, students, and adults with disabilities into the life and community of Southeast Christian Church. We believe God has given each of us unique abilities and talents for His glory and our good. As a ministry team, we strive to empower individuals with disabilities to know and love Jesus and others with their unique abilities

We provide age and developmentally appropriate ways for individuals with disabilities to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ while also building connection and community at Southeast Christian Church. We achieve this through multiple avenues, including, but not limited to, Shine Kids weekend worship, Shine Adults/Teens weekend groups and worship, SE!Kids Classroom Friends, and annual events like Camp Freedom and Shine Fall Fest.

We currently offer weekend worship programming at several of our campuses. We have additional details on some of our programming options listed below, while our Shine Ministry Newsletter has more information as well.

Shine Kids

We currently offer Shine Kids programming at three campuses – Blankenbaker, Indiana and Southwest – allowing us to minister to children who benefit from an adapted class with additional space for movement. These classes feature worship with a Bible lesson, crafts and activities as well as free play. At our Blankenbaker Campus, our Shine Ministry Suite is a large, dedicated worship space allowing for more students and a greater reach for our ministry. In addition to our Shine Kids classes, we also partner with our SE!Kids Ministry to train and provide Classroom Friends for those students needing extra support in a typical children’s ministry setting.

Shine Adults and Teens

We currently offer Shine programming for Adults and Teens at four campuses – Blankenbaker, Bullitt County, Crestwood and Southwest.
