Advocating for Your Child: IEP/504 Training

Katie Taylor from the Children's Law Center in Lexington, KY will help families understand how best to advocate for their child in a school setting. She will help families understand an IEP, a 504, and the difference between the two, as well as specific accommodations that can be requested and how to work alongside your child's educational team. Hosted by both Shine Ministry and Foster Care & Adoption Ministry, this training is for anyone whose child may require an IEP or 504. We will also cover a few specific accommodations for children actively in foster care, including how to find out if your child has an IEP and how to integrate past assessments into your child's current educational experience.
