Our Single Life Ministry exists to walk alongside single adults at Southeast as they embrace the life giving freedom of the gospel and relationship with Jesus Christ. We are an equipping ministry so our number one goal is spiritual growth and spiritual health. This philosophy drives the focus of many of our environments. In conjunction with that desire, we love to have fun, so we also strive to see like-minded/aged single adults walking, serving and doing life together. Our goal is to make a big place like Southeast, small through faithful, accountable community.

In Single Life we focus on three phases of community life, Grow, Gather and Go.

The Grow phase is where we focus on spiritual health and growth. This phase includes our seasonal teaching series’ which typically last three to four weeks at a time along with other opportunities like growth tracks, prayer initiatives and spiritual retreats.

The Gather phase dedicated to the coming together of our single adult population for fun and engagement. Events like Fan Day, picnics and community nights would fall under this category. We strive to make these events safe places for newbies to come and see what God is doing in our ministry.

When we say, we actually mean go. This is all about living on mission and equipping people to be released on mission. We do this through our Gather and Go community initiative along with specific opportunities like evangelism equipping sessions along with neighboring initiatives to impact our city and the world around us.

If you join us at any of our events, you will likely experience a combination of these in some capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Single Life is an equipping ministry for those who are legally single (single, dating, engaged, divorced or widowed). We serve all six campuses of Southeast with our gatherings happening on the Blakenbaker Campus.

Single Life hosts a number of events. Our main sessions, the “Single Life Series” happen four times a year and last three to four weeks each time.

At the moment, we do not offer small groups through Single Life. We desire to partner well with the disciple-making ministries on our campuses like men’s , women’s and Love Where You Are: Neighborhood Groups to facilitate those opportunities. We have through their programming seen many single adults find the support system and growth of a small group.

With Southeast being proudly a multi-generational church, Single Life is open to all who decide to come and be a part of our community. We attract a large and diverse group with the biggest portion ranging from 25 to 45 years of age. Whether you are younger or older than that range, we welcome you out.

As a sidebar, we periodically host community nights that do have age limits but those will be clearly advertised on the event to make it easy.

The short answer is no. With Single Life being an equipping ministry, we keep all of our programming focused on three key areas which are growing the believer in their walk. Gathering believers to live in gospel –centered community and Going out to impact the world around us.

Single Life does not house any of these groups as our church has a care ministry that offers counseling and support. We recommend you check out our Encounter ministry that meets every Thursday night. More information can be found at this link.
